I'd like to welcome everyone to the brand new website of the Government of Tristan da Cunha.
The main purpose of this site is to
- give the Tristan Government an internet presence and voice
- allow the Government to issue advice direct to potential visitors
- provide a repository for all the data which I expect to flow from the various developmental initiatives currently taking place on Tristan, and which should properly be in the public domain.
Tristan watchers will be familiar with our sister-site at the Tristan Association. The Government's intention is not to replace the Association's website with its own. Tristandc.com has been doing a wonderful job for Tristan for many years, and all of us on Tristan look forward to this continuing.
The Association site will continue to contain the Tristan community news and reports which have so fascinated so many people for so long. So for those of you who like to follow events on Tristan as they happen, please stick with Tristandc.com. This Government website will be a rather dryer affair but, I hope, no less interesting.
